In 1988 Shakespeare’s Garden was started as a full-service landscape company specializing in fine gardening. Why the name Shakespeare’s Garden? “The name represents what we do. At Shakespeare’s Garden, nature, creativity, and poetry all come together,” says co-owner Mark Fancher. In 2004, Steve Fancher co-owner joined the business bringing his degree in Horticulture and experience in commercial plant production for our exceptional gardening clients.
In 2007, we moved our operation to Burr Farm in Brookfield, CT. Burr Farm is a 100 + year old dairy farm on 110 acres. The farm is currently ten acres with the remaining adjacent 100 acres owned by the town of Brookfield as open space offering walking paths for the public to enjoy. This property has allowed us to expand our production adding the Barn Shop, perennials, trees and shrubs along with continuing our fine gardening and design-build services. We continually work to create a park-like feeling for your shopping experience and gardens that are magical for you. The number one comment from our loyal customers is, “this is my go-to place, my stress reliever. I needed my Shakespeare fix.” From gift certificates to plant inspiration, Shakespeare’s Garden is a rare nursery. Visit us on our Instagram and Facebook page to get a feel for our place.
